Manual Machinist

Location: Tulsa, OK
Pay: $26-$29/hour
Duration: Direct Hire
Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to plan, set up, modify, and operate conventional machine tools. This position requires the ability to produce parts with precise tolerances and finishes. The selected candidate will operate the following machines based on workload demand: Engine Lathes, Radial Drill/Mill (Bridgeport, Mecof), TOS Mill, and Broach (keyway).

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Plan and execute machining operations, including part holding, alignment, and tool selection.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints and sketches, making necessary machine and tooling adjustments for various parts.
• Utilize part and tool probing systems and a variety of precision measuring instruments to ensure exact tolerances and finishes.
• Perform mathematical computations and tooling processes to verify program readiness.
• Conduct layout work, incidental bench operations, and grind/set tools for special machining configurations.
• Assist other machinists with setup and training as needed.
• Support maintenance personnel in servicing machines and perform minor maintenance tasks such as cleaning and oiling machines.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Operate cranes, forklifts, and other power equipment as required.
• Provide instruction and assistance to team members when necessary.
• Set up and operate additional assigned machine tools as needed.
• Adhere to ISO 9000 requirements and ensure the production of high-quality, on-time parts.
• Follow proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste in compliance with JHA regulations and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Maintain personal tools in compliance with company RPI calibration requirements.
• Comply with all safety practices and facility regulations to protect self and others.

Qualifications & Skills

• Completion of Trade or Technical School (two to four years) or equivalent experience requiring advanced shop mathematics, blueprint reading, and use of precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three to five years of experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged standing and frequent walking, bending, kneeling, and twisting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
• Ability to work in varying temperature environments.
