The Challenge

We're looking for a Grouting Field Supervisor to join our Geotechnical Engineering team.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as a field supervisor and expert in slab jacking, deep grouting, sub sealing and pipe liner installation.
  • Inspect bridge approach slabs, pavement slabs, slope protections, bridge wing walls, pipe liners, and crossline pipes.
  • Oversee the assembly and disassembly of grouting equipment.
  • Monitor condition of equipment and ensure proper maintenance and repair.
  • Provide project management by planning for the use of staff, equipment, and resources to complete grouting operations.
  • Train bridge and county maintenance workers statewide in tasks required in pressure grouting operations.
  • Field supervise 4 to 8 staff.

 

What You Bring

  • Knowledge of the methods used in the design and construction of highways, culverts, and bridges to be able to inspect bridge approach slabs, pavement slabs, slope protections, bridge wing walls, and pipe liners.
  • Experience leveling slabs, filling voids around pipe liners, sub sealing, and deep grouting with cementitious grout.
  • Experience assembling and disassembling grouting or other equipment for set up and cleaning, monitoring conditions of equipment, and ensuring proper maintenance and repair.
  • Demonstrated ability reading, interpreting, and explaining construction plans, as-built plans, specifications, and testing procedures.
  • Experience clearly communicating work to be performed and training less experienced employees, such as bridge and county maintenance workers.
  • A Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker (N) endorsement(Don't have it?  Still apply! You can get it within 90 days of hire!)
  • Considerable knowledge of grouting techniques, equipment, materials, and methods used in highway construction; culverts and bridge design and construction; hydraulics; and trigonometry.
  • Skills and ability to use specialized instruments, such as sensitive movement and pressure measuring devices.
  • Ability to take notes and prepare reports, use calculators, tablets, and computers.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information to varied audiences.

 

Education & Experience

  • Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or related discipline, and
  • 6+ years progressive technician experience; or

      

  • High School/GED Diploma, and
  • 8+ years progressive technician experience; or

      

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Notes

  • Frequent overnight travel may be required.
  • We will conduct a pre-employment drug test and check with your previous employers over the past 2 years about controlled substances and alcohol testing.
